The Red Hill Carousel Restaurant in Deakin was designed by Miles Jakl in 1964, and later expanded by Enrico Taglietti.

Its unique 12-sided structure was a testament to the ingenuity and creativity of its architects, embodying the spirit of a time which is now long gone.Despite its significance, the restaurant had undergone a period of closure and abandonment for several years. During this transitional state, the building came perilously close to a permanent state of abandonment, highlighting how quickly even iconic structures can fall into disuse.
