Red Hill Kiernan May

Chronicles of a
Fading Glory

2023
Architect
Miles Jakl
Located at Red Hill in Deakin, the Red Hill Carousel Restaurant was designed by Miles Jakl in 1964, and later expanded by Enrico Taglietti.

Its unique 12-sided structure was a testament to the ingenuity and creativity of its designers, embodying the spirit of a time long gone. Despite its significance and charm, this iconic Canberra landmark has been closed and fenced off for several years, its closure perhaps symbolizing the end of an era.
